Simple Relief and Wood Type

This workshop is an introduction to letterpress printing. Participants will print a combination of simple relief and wood type to get an overview of how the Vandercook Letterpresses work and how they print.

ARTIST BIO

Sydney Jean Reisen is a local book artist and letterpress printer. She attended Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, Corcoran College of Art + Design, and was an intern in the Rare Books and Special Collections at The Library of Congress. Her books are represented in collections of the Getty Research Institute, the Brooklyn Museum, the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery Library and the Library of Congress.
